Last month, I had the privilege of spending the afternoon with an incredible group of women at Harrods, talking about something most high-achieving women rarely get space to explore:
What it actually looks like to fuel your boundaries.
And honestly?
I walked away inspired.
Because what stood out to me wasn’t how much they were juggling (which was a lot), or how high-performing they were (also a lot).
It was their awareness.
Their honesty.
Their willingness to look at themselves with compassion and curiosity.
These are women who have built impressive careers, who lead, who deliver, who hold things together. Yet they’ve reached that quiet point so many successful women reach:
“I can keep doing this…
But I don’t want to keep doing it like this.”
Not “more achievement.”
Not “more pushing.”
But more energy.
More ease.
More self-respect in how they show up.
What We Really Talked About
We didn’t talk about doing more.
We didn’t talk about routines or discipline.
We talked about the foundations no one teaches you — especially when you’ve spent years being the one everyone relies on.
- How proper nourishment changes your mood, patience and decision-making
- How boundaries are not about saying no to others, but saying yes to yourself
- How your nervous system needs support, not constant override
- How “performing well” and “feeling well” are not the same thing
And the best part?
No one was in crisis.
They weren’t burnt out.
They weren’t falling apart.
They were simply ready to operate from a place of genuine vitality, not just competence.
There’s something powerful about a woman deciding she wants to feel good — not because she’s struggling, but because she’s done tolerating “fine.”
The Shifts They Committed To
By the end of the session, the room had shifted.
Women were saying things like:
“I’m starting that movement class again.”
“I’m protecting my evenings -no more default, yes.”
“I’m actually going to nourish myself properly now.”
Not in a dramatic “everything changes tomorrow” way.
More like:
“I matter, and I’m going to act like I matter.”
That’s the quiet magic of this work.
It’s not about self-care.
It’s about self-respect.
Credit to Harrods
I have to say, it speaks volumes about Harrods that they created space for this.
Most organisations talk about wellbeing as a perk.
Harrods treats it like a foundation.
Because you can’t lead, think, or perform from an empty tank.
And they know that.
